Under the banner of WSIS Youth Caucus (youth caucus for the
World Summit on the Information Society), four youth serving
organisation came together to run the Rural Youth
Information Society Campaign in 2005. The organisations are Radio
Waumini, Citron Wood, G-ICT and Made in Kenya Network (founder
and coordinator of WSIS Youth Kenya). The campaign was funded
by the Technical Centre for Agriculture and Rural Cooperation
of the ACP-EU countries (CTA) based in the Netherlands.
Radio Waumini has been offering radio coverage to youth initiatives on The Break;, which was hosted by award winning presenter Antony Wafula every Tuesday from 11am. Through efforts by WSIS Youth Kenya, one of the guest to the show was the Coordinator of the WSIS Youth (Global) Caucus, Titilayo Akinsanmi of SchoolNet Africa/Global Teenager Project.
Activities during the campaign, including the first Kenya Youth and ICT Convention 2005, were documented on the WSISYouthKenya project page.
